Held by:  danceatyourdoorstep.com

Welcome to New York Salsa! Fridays at 6 pm
$160 weeks for 8 weeks (Jan 10-Feb 28)
By 8 weeks, you will not only immerse yourself in the rhythms of salsa, but you will also learn how to connect with another person dancing to this flowy style of music! This salsa style primarily focuses on keeping the space tight and being close to your partner. Yes, because of this tight linear dance, you learn how to spin on the spot! We will also learn how to express ourselves through body movement and "styling"!!
A partner is not needed because we will be switching partners, and if the music calls for it, perhaps we can learn a couple of "shines" along the way (this is when the partners break out of their connection and dance on their own).
At the beginning of the class, we will take advantage of ZEE's studio space and do a few warm-up exercises. For the dance portion, you can bring dance shoes provided they have suede on the bottom, but socks or indoor non-stick shoes are ok, too. Outdoor shoes are not allowed.

Partner Dance Series - Sundays at 10:30 am
$160 per 8 weeks (Jan 12 - March 2)

By the 8 weeks, you will learn how to connect with another person dancing to a song and know a little about musical interpretation! During this term, we will be using various bachata songs. Some questions we will be answering are: who is leading? Who is following? Do you know where our weight is? Are you listening to the feedback that your partner is giving you? How are the two of you responding to the music? No partner is required, but if you don't have 1, you most likely will be dancing with your instructor, Nicole Lamb :-)

Let's take advantage of ZEE's studio space and do warm-up exercises. You can bring dance shoes for the dance portion, provided they have suede on the bottom, but socks or indoor non-stick shoes are ok, too. Outdoor shoes are not allowed.
